Meet The Party of FAMILY Values

It was 2004 before I realized most Americans just weren’t getting the new ripple in our National psyche. In 2000, it was clear to me that something had fundamentally altered our Freedom awareness meter; some event(s) had diminished our attention span, even further; some process had magnified our blind spots and our capability to swallow even the most disgusting truth & lies, and keep right on “drinking the kool-aide.”

This was worse than Watergate & Nixon. It was worse than canonizing Reagan (because they had no bragging Rights since Lincoln); Anyway by definition, both Lincoln and Teddy would be Democrats today. At the very least, neither President would have permitted the slow undoing of our National fabric by either the “money changers” of K Street NW or the champions of a hood wearing philosophy, who now provide the cover up cloud of hush money, for bought & paid for politicians. Believe me, I try to keep an open mind regarding the GOP, despite the overdone John Boehner, scary Eric Cantor, foggy Mitch McConnell, foot-in-mouth Peter King and not to be outdone by SC Governor Sanford, John Ensign. However, each of these public servants, while serving themselves, continues to provide proof positive that GOP “speak with fork tongue.” Now I am forced to wonder if Right votes (& rhetoric) are motivated by “The FAMILY” of C Street. Aw, say it ain’t so Sarah: This Right “FAMILY” group, wrapped in The Stars & Stripes with one hand on the speed “dial a millionaire” button and the other profaning the Bible, are the secret bankroll for Republican Congressmen? You betcha.

First it was spin; then sound bites; then Re-Directing which, since the assassination of JFK, has been finely tuned by a TV Media & government who have participated both as culprits & victims. Now the new master stroke in low is using God to preach the Rights of sin: Love they Neighbor regardless of your marital status. Preach in the halls of government the skinny on what’s Right for America, and as a down payment, we’ll pave your political road with 30 pieces of silver. Truly, for the truth that will set us free, we must ask “The FAMILY,” and just as importantly, ourselves, ”Where is the bottom?!?”

While we have been believing in “Yes We Can,” the C Street Rights have been preaching, “Oh No You Don’t.” While we weep for the loss of an International Entertainment Genius, Members of Congress and State Houses have been shedding crocodile tears over the slowing momentum of a new President’s efforts to clean up the disturbing residue of a former VP’s band of thieves, masquerading as an Executive Branch of Government. Such leaders have led us not only into the depths of economic depression and moral decay, but most sadly, to the deaths & maiming of thousands of young Americans.

This new lower road America did not start with Florida chads or a compromised Supreme Court; nor with questionable Ohio voting machines; nor with Iran Contra; nor even with Watergate’s felons. No, this started the very moment “We the People,” decided to look the other way. It began when chasing the next buck resulted in outsourcing our children’s education in Civics, good citizenship and a sense of Self, Neighborhood and Community Pride, to video games, web surfing, twittering and worst of all, political talking heads & their comedic alter egos. It started the first time someone seriously thought it was Right to profess “America, Love it or Leave it,” or worse, “My Country, Right or wrong!” It started in back rooms, behind gated neighborhoods & continues in bank board rooms, where “We the People” are not invited. It started when our Second Continental Congress representatives allowed South Carolina’s Rutledge to force Jefferson to remove the freedom for slaves from the Declaration of Independence. It was the Sedition Act of John Adams; Andrew Jackson’s insistence that “the red savage” was dispensable because he was an inferior race and a conquered people; it was Tyler & Polk in Mexico; Lincoln’s assassination & Wilson’s isolationism; Hoover’s inability to see & Eisenhower’s waiting for the last round of golf before telling us the military was taking over; It was Nixon’s redefining presidential power, Reaganomics and a CIA Chief serving as Commander-in-Chief; and seemingly worst of all, it was the unbelievably tragic international consequences, resulting from a gross overreaction to oral sex.

Then finally the shadow government encouraged their puppets to step into the spotlight, free, especially after September 11, 2001, to easily harness our Right minded swing for some useful misdirection. So in plain view, the Robber Barons, now leaches swelling from the bleeding of America’s daughters & sons, declared their patriotism, in an oily war of their choice. In hindsight, we recognize some of their faces, even as our new, more honorable President seems determined (like Ford’s pardon) to allow the gang leaders to freely slink back into their lavish holes of darkness. Oh No, We Can’t Mr. President! For in truth, America can never truly be America again, until the truth is known about villains like P Wolfawitz, K Rove & D Cheney; traitors & disgraces to the Bar like J Woo & DS Addington; and criminals like A Gonzales & D Rumsfeld.

These and all those who preach Right for wrong, must be summoned to the very Justice they usurped with malicious intent. They have raped our international reputation as well as our economy and they must be indicted, tried and imprisoned, if we are ever to embrace the dream that was once The Land of the Free. The United States of America was born from the idea of an ideal. To fail to prosecute any citizen for the breaking of our laws, is to fail the very foundation that makes us who we are, and defines all that we strive to be. “Let the word go forth from this time and place, to friend and foe alike, that the torch has been passed to a new generation of Americans” who will not tolerate from its government anything less than the purging of the Dark Ages of the Bush/Cheney Regime. President Obama, “We the People” expect nothing less than a Rebirth of Freedom for all, transparent honesty from all elected officials, corporate leaders & banking institutions; AND an equitable implementation of the rule of law, guaranteeing justice for all, regardless of social position, job title or economic standing.

LISTENING TO THE TRUTH IN YOUR MIRROR

In the past seven years it has perhaps been too difficult to hear the prologue of The Reasonable Voice over the demons of rhetoric promoting fear and confusion, but as we discover just how far we’ve drifted out of tune with our world, (as ever increasing political headlines reveal), perhaps in celebrating the traditions of all our Holidays, we may choose to Listen to the harmony of The Reasonable Voice within.

From time to time, most of us seem to resist the pain of facing the music for what is good for us: school, exercise, healthy diet, reading, alone time and taking/making the time to really Listen to the Truth. Listen to our children, our neighbors; Listen to the birds singing and the wind in the trees; Listen to what strangers are saying (even those who speak against us), but most of all, Listen to those leaders who claim to speak for us. Once again The Reasonable Voice invites all Americans, regardless of political persuasion to take a little time this Holiday Season to Listen to the diverging sounds all around us, and still the dissonance such noises cause, with the peace that comes with Listening to all points of view. In such moments you may even hear your own true nature speak to you. It may be frightening or even shameful at first, but Listen until you hear the whispering sixth grader from within. That’s your Reasonable Voice.

Listening to your Reasonable Voice will rekindle in you, a goals filled purpose and visionary mission of hope for the resurrection of a principled America, which could offer again the promise of the equality of dreams. Within the refrains of holiday melodies, perhaps we should also welcome (if not encourage) the immerging pulse of Political Revolution, if we are to create a Happy New Year that replaces the darkness of the last seven years with a National Chorus celebrating International Humanity. Let this Holiday Season revive our sense of a Happy International New Year that is worthy of our Nation’s creation, as well as our Nation’s Creator. Listen to the truth about our leadership; then Listen to the truth about what constitutes real Leadership. Listen to the morality of The Golden Rule; then Listen to the immorality of our current Administration. Listen, then revolt against those whose governance continues to be so revolting.

Listen to the crescendo of reason stirring & steering within you. Then follow as it leads you to reject the disharmony and dishonesty of those who have wiped their feet on our Constitution while pretending to revere our Flag and values. Listen to the growing drum beat for prosperity, peace and equality, then march to the heart beat of human decency. March to the voices of Freedom crying out from the wilderness of the past seven years, yearning to accelerate us into a future of renewed National Honor.

The Reasonable Voice invites you to stop dancing to the tune of despots, and reexamine the composition of your dreams, the definition of your country and the depth of your soul! It is not enough to follow the dreamer, You Must Be The Dream! Searching for someone with all the answers, just takes you further from the truth in your mirror: You are the Hero who will save your children, your grandchildren, your country and yourself. Allow The Reasonable Voice to be a light upon your pathway out of the shadow of a Government of moral midgets. Let The Reasonable Voice be your mirror, enabling you to see the wisdom of that “still small voice” of balance and equality within you, so that you will never again be drowned out by the discords of external chaos, reality shows, and a miserably flawed news media.

Full Stop!!! This is not a call to look back to a calmer, happier more peaceful time. Far too many politicians have used this ploy to wreak havoc on our present and future. If there ever was a calmer, happier and more peaceful time, it was long before Pearl Harbor, or even 1900, and if you keep looking back, you’ll find civil war, slavery, the massacre of Native Americans, taxation without representation (yes, even then), and of course Revolution – and that’s just American History. No, if we are to find that imagined magic time of peace, we need to recognize the myth we keep passing along to our grandchildren for what it is – a white wash, a most incomplete picture, indeed, a lie that allows the composition of duets like Abramoff & DeLay, Rove & Gonzalez and the ever dark comedy of Bush & Cheney. If we truly seek Peace of Heart, Peace of Spirit and Peace of Mind, then we need to stop expecting it to flow from the wells of corruption. Far better for us to ask, seek & knock at the mirror of our soul.

What we seek is, and always has been found in the silence of Listening to our Reasonable Voice – our international humanitarian within, if you will. The Reasonable Voice is your guide to what really matters, the essence of what it means to be “A Human Being,” for one can not be a good American, without first being a good Human Being.

Can you see it?

Now Listen: As John Donne would agree, all of us on this planet are a piece of the great mosaic in which we live. By redirecting our attention and “To Do” list to what is most important to humanity, we save our families and our world. Like it or not, Shakespeare was right, the World is the Stage on which we are performing and “to those that much is given, much is expected.” So do we wish to cast ourselves in the role of the villain invader, or are we willing to recommit to be the international good guys. Yes, “Charity begins at home,” but our home is the Earth & all that live upon it.

Now stop claiming you want to “change the world.” Be Reasonable, and Save it instead:
First, always LISTEN to the Children of the World (& not just with your ears) and as you love your children, love all Human Beings.
Second, understand it is America’s raison d’être to lead by example – the example of an International Golden Rule.
Third, your Reasonable Voice is the truth that is seeking to set you free, and you need look no further for it, than the truth in your mirror.

WITHOUT A SONG, WE GOT PLENTY OF NOTHING!

At the beginning of my career, I was often asked to sing at closing night cast parties. A favorite of everyone was “To Fill the World with Love” from “Goodbye, Mr. Chips.” I don’t sing it anymore, and I can’t remember when or why I stopped. Perhaps we as a Nation, can’t quite figure out how our National theme songs (and International Leitmotif) went from “Kumbaya, “Imagine” and “All We Are Saying, is Give Peace a Chance, “ to “Gangsta Sh*t,” “Oops I did it Again” and yes, “Onward Christian Soldiers Marching Off to War.” Sorry, I know that last one hurt, but if we are ever to re-establish our International Balance and resurrect our National Essence, we will need to do more than wait for the dust of the current Administration to be shaken from our National feet, for they are truly giving America, Americans and by the way Jesus, a bad name.

When you don’t care about the people you were elected to serve, it’s easier to sacrifice their youth on the alter of some imagined, yet self-serving, global mission to impose your thoughts & feelings on others. We certainly were not a perfect Nation or People before 2000, having been filled with all the half truths, taught to us by well meaning History teachers, who were forced to use text books produced by “bottom line” Corporate America, promoting a white wash of our true American Story. However, there was a time when we believed in and practiced the depth of The Declaration of Independence, The Constitution (and its Bill of Rights in their entirety), and more and more, even The Gettysburg Address.

We were proud but not arrogant, courageous but not reckless, generous but not a doormat for our own Government. THEN, the Atomic Bomb & a golf playing President who waited until it was time for him to leave office to warn us about the real dangers of a marriage between a Military Complex and Corporate America; THEN, the assassinations of those who recognized and inspired the best that is still in us; THEN, Vietnam, Watergate, and the nonsense of “…Government is the problem.” Well, I must agree that Government as Karl Rove, Dick Cheney, Alberto Gonzales and GW Bush practice it, is indeed a serious problem for every living thing on the planet.

No, we didn’t suddenly stop being America in 2000, nor in 2004, but the decline accelerated when we allowed politicians to convince us that September 11, 2001, changed forever who we are. Then we got caught up in their tremendous PR talent, repetitious rhetoric and “swift boat” propaganda. It’s easy for us, (though not the rest of the world), to see how we were duped by such masters of the media. However, it’s time for “We the People” to proclaim “ENOUGH!” It’s time to think for ourselves and reclaim our National Essence. We are NOT a Divided Nation as they wishfully preach. We are the United States of America. So let's start acting & voting like it again.

All I am saying is, give Political Revolution a Chance: remove from office those who make us the least we can be, and install those who bring out the best that we are, and have been – A Renaissance of the spirit of “1776,” The Emancipation Proclamation and the “Greatest Generation.” It’s all still there, just buried a little under the debris of the current political corruption of deceit, law breaking and greed. Our leaders are not us, but “We the People” ARE STILL AMERICA!

SECRETS, LIES & REVOLUTION

abolish it, and to institute new Government...as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness." Thomas Jefferson, (Declaration of Independence).

How far we’ve come: Now we have a President who continues the status quo health plan for kids, but no expansion. So much for "No Child Left Behind."

Nonetheless, the President is RIGHT to insist, "We the People" can trust the old musical show stopper: "The Country's in the Very Best of Hands!"

True they are oily hands, but the white wash job still covers up the dirt of the secret RIGHT men, behind the curtain, with their fingers crossed.

You see, it isn't the Government that is Broken in America. This White House regime, far exceeds the Nixon team, and remains the reigning champions of redirecting the focus of "We the People."

What is broken, is the attention span of "We The People," who have been distracted by the best acting troupe in the US of A, not to mention their PR teams at CENSORING FOX and other media, that have failed miserably at keeping their eye on the ball, so "We The People" can win the game.

So Please America, Let's Pay Closer Attention, because you can bet your last middle class dollar that The RIGHT people who put the wrong people at the center of our Government, are acting out precisely what they planned: the end of Free Speech, The Hell with the Earth on which we Live, and The Establishment of a Ruling Class. All, while we sign petitions to keep porn stores out of our communities -- a worthy cause to be sure, but it will not protect us from the far greater Devil, that is an all controlling, self-serving Government of Robber Barons!

In all of World History, no Republic has lasted for more than 300 years, and the decline usually begins ever so subtly, after 200 years, with Napoleon type leaders who perform warm & fuzzy PR magic in public, while failing to govern in a way that is for the highest & best good of its citizens.

Red or Blue, Left or Right, it's as clear as Black & White, that the true meaning AND substance of The United States of America is melting away, just like our world’s glaciers. The Good News: "We The People" have the petition power to stop the meltdown of our country, if we only have the guts to stand up to the bullies whether they are hiding out in Afghanistan & Pakistan or lurking in secret underground C.O.G. caves, when not counting their 30 pieces of silver at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.

It's not about an obnoxious student hogging a mike and it's not about an unwelcomed obnoxious foreign leader coming to NYC to yank our chain. It's about our children growing up in a country whose greatest gifts are being siphoned off by their own Government.

It can only be RIGHT that a President of the United States approves the distribution of a handbook to prevent our First Amendment rights of Freedom of Speech, since the Progressive LEFT are the ones who gave them to us in the first place.

I'd say a Government that uses its Religious for political gain, mis-represents its reasons for war waging resulting in the loss of life of thousands of our sons & daughters, plus spies on its citizens without legal authorization, is precisely the kind of rogue Government, about which
Thomas Jefferson was warning our new America in 1776.

Perhaps it’s time to heed the warning of our third President, and effect a POLITICAL Revolution! Dare you to sign That Petition!

THE THINGS WE TALK ABOUT and THE THINGS WE DON'T

Ah, the Summer is over and the rush is on, but what to talk about as the nights get long; No, it's no time to turn on your TV, unless you really don't seek clarity.....

1) Denmark & Germany keeping us safe, from the man our war masters chose to allow to take a mountain stroll into the arms of our bought & paid for ally, Pakistan. So why aren't Congress and other talking heads, talking about the differences between Denmark, Germany and the far more expensive Musharaff? Let's make them talk about that!

2) Military flies nuclear bombs over America, to the State where an American city is still struggling to survive an earlier governmental mistake. It really wasn't the "greatest natural disaster" that destroyed the Big Easy. It was the Army Corp of Engineer's Levies, and the mistakes of every level of our civilian government. Still, we have time to do more than, not talk about that.

3) The old man of the good old boy party, comes out of the shadows, in the din of night, to slip in the butt end of the GOP lineup, to try and elbow his way to the front. Thus the Republican line gains another to preach their plan, for more of the same insane bloodshed. No wonder their states are colored Red! Oh please, let's not talk about that!

4) Oprah campaigns for Obama. "Is that Fair?!?" cries out cable TV's screamer. Dear Chris, despite all of the efforts of Rumsfeld, Gonzales and the crooked shooting of Cheney in the Bush, it is still America, where it is not only "fair" to speak up and out for the candidate of your choice, but it should be seen as a privilege, if not a duty. Now, if she is supporting him because they share similar skin pigmentation, well, that might be something to talk about.

5) Our children licking lead from China, while Mattel joins Utah mine owner Bob Murray in a PR blitz, that would save an Idaho Senator. With all this theatre, we lack an intermission to talk about the real flop: our children being left behind.

6) Today Show reaches out to that towering personification of ethics & morality: Tom DeLay, giving him a national forum to redirect the focus of "We The People," while he continues to play his shell game. Now there's "The Bad Seed" for a new sitcom, worth talking about!

And Last But BEST:

7) A President of the United States admits that he is willing to prolong a war (that was never really designed to protect the Homeland - a Nazi term, by the way - from those truly responsible for attacking America six long years ago). Isn't it time for "We The People" to demand an interactive, action oriented conversation, about the continued needless & senseless sacrifice of American youth, in a country which had nothing to do with the planes & deaths of September 11, 2001?

Remember too, we now know there exists a Nixon-like hit list instruction pamphlet, on how to prevent Americans from exercising their First Amendment Rights in the presence of their President, and our independent media spends more TV news coverage, on the Toilet Come Back Kid, with cute captions like, "In or Out," redirecting the focus of what we should be talking about.

Our corporate owned media has become masters at redirecting the news from where our (& their) focus should be. It doesn't matter whether Senator Craig is gay or gray, get it? Come on think about the real issue, focus on that, and demand that your news source and your government do the same. Now, that's worth talking about.

Sexual discrimination, Racial Bias and Political Hypocrisy, have no place in James Madison's view of Constitutionality. That needs to be the focus of our Media, the agenda of our National conversation and the mandate "We The People" give our elected officials, to talk about.

Perhaps in the Land of the Free, what "We the People" should be talking about and focused on is, what GW Bush & Larry Craig have in common: Both make pretty public speeches, designed to dupe both military and civilians, but record their own devious & malicious self serving & secret intentions, while we talk about Oprah and her political interventions.

THANKS TO THE GENERAL

I'm intrigued by the timing of the Attorney General's departure; perhaps Rumsfeld can explain.

I guess with friends like the President, timing is everything. Still we must be thankful for the Health Spa Alberto leaves behind, as an enduring symbol of the new Bush America. I wonder, with all the White House personnel changes, will we ever get to see behind the curtain, the real master court jester of "I can't recall."

So His "name was dragged through the mud for political reasons," after he allowed the frog maker Karl Rove, to fire US Attorneys for political reasons. Talk about the kettle calling the pot black. I mean who writes the material for these guys.

Now, you have yet another Right Wing Republican professing the very highest & best family values, while looking for a bathroom quickie. No wonder they're so pleased with the hide-a-way Cuban vacation spot with which they have re-defined us to the world. It must leave the leaving AG with a true feeling of accomplishment, which even he can recall.

Although the rooms are a bit cramped, and need a little airing out, and not everything meets the code of human decency, AG Gonzales says, it'll pass inspection, if "We the People" are just willing to look the other way, and watch some Ari Fleischer make believe reality shows.

Perhaps, the Bush/Cheney hunting department thought running a country into the ground would be the perfect way to try new things, meet new people, share new experiences; Perhaps even to prove that a country's spirit, reputation and character (not to mention its children) could indeed, in only eight years, be left behind.

It may not be Hedonism IV, but I hear membership in the Right Reds can get pretty kinky. I mean, the moment you set free a bunch of Rovian hypocrites, off camera and in the shadows, well things are bound to get a little like a bathroom break with Romney's Senator friend Larry Craig.

What can you expect really, when the corporate ("money changers") puppet masters convince the puppets at the top, to use the religious belief of so many sincere citizens, to effectively cover up their own sins. You can hardly expect the innocent caught up in the halo spin, to even grasp that the Right Reds, are once again, giving Jesus (& America) a bad name, with their Right Wing version of family values.

To truly value our country and our families, we really must stop kneeling down & giving praise to the "Man of Faith" who believes so strongly in such an Attorney General (& his Cuban place). Remember, just because the Right Red Rove Rhetoric uses your faith and Fleischer visuals to claim it's all truth, justice and the American Way, doesn't make it really Red, White & Blue, nor True!

You see, it's all smoke and mirrors to make you look away from things like airport bathrooms & Gonzales rationalized Guantanamo Bay. Look instead at sermonized Bush/Gonzales "I can't recall" Congressional Confessionals, and you'll recognize the Right Reds who have sold their souls to the Devil to stay in Washington and keep Guantanamo at bay.

I just hope God never feels that, "We the People did so too?"

OUR CHILDREN LEFT BEHIND

No matter how important our personal family needs, no matter how furiously we try to lose ourselves in our jobs, careers and personal focus, some things must surely stop us in our tracks.

No matter that in a week when a President both adroitly and absurdly compares two National Tragedies, both of which imposed on us through the lies of our government, some things demand we pause to think and review.

No matter how incredibly insensitive and self-serving a mine owner can be in his dismissal of family devastation, for profit, some times we need to reassert our national soul.

No matter how wrapped up we've become with dieting, workouts, pot bellies, & rear end thongs, we must apply our national brakes, and smell our roses before they all whither into dust.

No matter what your political affiliation, no matter if you still feel you can afford not to have one, we must take a moment to access how far we have come, before we're completely, undone.

No matter how much we take for granted a Constitution that most of us have never read, we owe ourselves a read of the administration's manifesto on how to deal with Protestors in America, and not leave it to the ACLU alone, to be our defense against the darkness that now controls 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.

No matter what our individual pre-occupation with a roller coaster stock market, a housing crazed media, or the repetition of a Tom DeLay like maneuver in California, we must look to the Gold Star mother and her three sons, for it is this that defines our created monster, Iraq and the malice of a government that so callously makes such sacrifices of other's daughters & sons. THIS is the real tragedy of a frightening political gang & its foolish war, for no war should be fought for secrets untold -- no such unselfish sacrifice made by a mother and her sons, for a selfish government with such an insatiable lust for power and might.

No matter what your vote, no matter what your politics, we must take pause to appreciate what we were, and what we've become. Then cry out to the gods of deception, power and greed: We The People Are Done With You and You Must Go!

Unlike you, we value our young, we live for the future of our families and unlike your pretenses, we honor our moral values as a Nation of Human Decency.

AMERICA THE BEAUTIFUL GONE SOUTH

It's the dog days of summer (whatever that means), and I feel like writing about Wyatt Earp, Golda Meir (America should be so lucky), John Wayne, and the son of David Katz, my old friend Marc.

BUT, I'm intrigued by this forgotten Health Spa south of the border I want to sell you, if I can just get the straight scoop from its current owner.

Seems the rooms are a bit cramped, and need a little airing out. Not everything meets the code of human decency, but the owner's attorney says, it'll pass inspection, if you're willing to sell your soul.

I just want a place to try new things, meet new people, share new experiences. Perhaps even take along my dog, just for fun. He's a loyal companion, if you keep him on a short leash.

What appeals to me most about this oasis is, it's a gated community on the tip of a Caribbean island, yet it's completely open to religious diversity and cultural exchanges.

Unfortunately the current landlord has a limited view of partying into the night, but I understand there are private pools for most of the guests.

I'm not really looking for Hedonism IV, but some nights, I hear it can get pretty kinky down there. I mean, the moment you set free a bunch of guys & dolls far away from home, well things are bound to get a little Spring Breakish.

However, they tell me their boss doesn't really give a damn about the current tenants. So with a silent wink & a nod, and the right digital, you can get the very best promo shots, that are bound to reveal the Right perspective, if you know what I mean.

We all should really kneel down & give thanks to the "Man of Faith" who believes so strongly in such a place, because it's the perfect vacation spot after so much hot air in Washington about truth, justice and the American Way.

I mean, you'll never run into that sissy stuff, down on this piece of real estate I'm talking about. Why, anyone would sell his soul to the Devil to have such a place. Didn't we?

THE PARTIES OVER

When there were no more STATESMEN, and we chose to choose politicians instead, the Parties were over. Then, must a United People rise with the dawn of a new sun, to ensure that the country is once again, one.

I remember my grandmamma telling me that five of her sons were in WWII, all at the same time. Every night she prayed for each by name, and all returned home. It was a time without blogs, without cell phones, voicemail or even PCs, and thankfully, a time without self-serving talking heads, in a shouting frenzy, to paint a United People, with their own particular bias of Blue or Red.

It was a time of fewer college students telling Leno & Matthews they're for the war, but unavailable to attend. It was a time of FDR, Churchill, Truman, Macarthur, Patton, & of a young sailor named Kennedy. A time when many, many sons, brothers, husbands and nurses reminded us, of a man named Pat Tillman.

It was a time before Red & Blue States, for we were happy to be one nation then -- a nation with a history and Constitution to "preserve, protect and defend."

It was a time before we plugged in our laptops and tuned out with Ipods. A time when we had leaders worthy of our respect, and a time when leaders heeded our retrospect. It was a time before a President in fear of his own military establishment, lost the nation nearly 60,000 lives, much like now, when government sacrifices young lives, with their lies.

Nobody is listening, but everybody's talking. Republicans in dresses, chasing pages, refusing to pay for bridges; While the Democrats run scared of the masses. It's a time for no Parties, for the Parties are no longer sober; And the Reds just don't care, why the Blues want this war to be over.

In a time when political primaries are used for urinating competitions between States, I say the Parties are over. The Reds hate the Gays, but praise the troops with all but equipment funds. The Blues run in circles, still not believing how much they've won.

McCain fading away like an old soldier; The ghost Gingrich of Christmas past, lurking in the shadows; Better on TV screen Thompson, missing in action; Romney aimlessly paving Iowa streets with green, while sparing his sons from Iraqi screams; Edwards ranting in desperation; Rove is out. Hillary is in, and Obama, as yet no favorite son, thunders on, to the end.

Now is the time for a United People to make those who would lead us, follow our lead. The time has come for the Red & Blue to add a little White back in too. It's time to reclaim our heritage of Red, White & Blue and Black, & Yellow & Native Red and Brown, that has always been, what keeps our feet on the ground.

So let's, United People assure the Blues, that they have our support in uniting the Reds, to override the Right. Then our Nation can stand proud and tall, on an infrastructure that does not fall.

WE THE PEOPLE

You have to laugh out loud, don't you?!? I mean Alberto Gonzales making wiretapping decisions. Well, give him credit, he already decided (with the Decider-in-Chief) that they should be "warrantless." That's a pretty big decision for two guys with limited vision, and obvious tiny knowledge of the Bill of Rights.

What ever happened to, "preserve, protect & defend the Constitution of the United States." Didn't the "Man of Faith" have his hand on the Bible when he swore that?

So how about this new Congress we have. I know, I know you think they are just like the old rubber stamp Republican one, don't you. What is the cure for spinelessness I wonder?

You ever think it's us, WE THE PEOPLE, that are the cure?

I know we'd love to blame it all on the crazy Right and the weak Left, and get back to our remotes, but the truth is WE THE PEOPLE, did it to ourselves, and if we don't stop doing it, it will become what, WE THE PEOPLE, are = The New Americans!

Without practicing good, hands on citizenship, WE THE PEOPLE, don't get the Government we deserve. It's more like we get the Government we think we deserve, settling for what those who vote, elect to office.

So we end up with a country divided against itself, with the rude & crude Right wiping their feet on the Constitution, while intimidating the Dreamers on the Left. So there is bound to be a showdown (or a series of little ones) between the foxes and the hens. It's up to WE THE PEOPLE, to make certain America wins!

Believe it or not, it's WE THE PEOPLE who make all this happen. You see, while there still may be sincere, honest & trustworthy people in Government. On come on, you've got one hand, you can count them. For the most part, WE THE PEOPLE have stopped electing Statesmen, opting instead for politicians. And what's the most important thing to a politician: Getting your vote the next time, & the next, & the next and so forth, & so on...

So now we have a Government of bullies who we allow to run wild over our Civil Liberties vs. the dreamers who fear that if they vote against the bully party of "No," WE THE PEOPLE will think the Dreamer party of "Yes," is too weak on Homeland Security & the War on Terror. See how we control them?

The only thing the Congress is afraid of, is the opinion of WE THE PEOPLE, and if the screaming Media is the only one telling them what WE THE PEOPLE, think & want, well they have to vote with the party of "No," so the party of "Yes," won't look chicken to WE THE PEOPLE.

WE THE PEOPLE must stop acting like we're in an old black & white John Wayne movie, charging up the hill through a hale of bullets, without a scratch, before we can expect a Congress to stop following the John Wayne wanna-bes in the White House.

WE THE PEOPLE must out shout the talking heads with their Roving talking points, so our Congress feels it's safe to be reasonable, logical and Constitutional when they vote.

Until WE THE PEOPLE tell the Congress, that standing up for us & America, means standing against the secrets, lies, & broken laws of the Bush League, we can't possibly benefit from, nor even resemble the heritage of a Checks and Balances, three branches of Government system, that Washington, Valley Forge, Franklin, Jefferson, Adams, all our forefathers and all the rag-tagged townspeople, risking their lives, in their bare feet, left to our care.

WE THE PEOPLE are the Ambassadors of their Legacy!

MY APOLOGIES TO MARY TILLMAN

Hurrah for the Red, White & Blue! Experiencing once again the broad grin, the square jaw, the unwavering leadership of certainty, firmly grasping the situation, seizing the initiative, AND armed to the teeth with supportive subordinates whose noses had been thoroughly whitewashed with baby wipes -- shared no doubt, in keeping with the down sizing philosophy of their boss, the King of Military Farce was back on stage.

I don't know about you, but I got that old cozy, warm & fuzzy feeling, like right after someone does me in the, well you know. Listening to the reassurance of such a competent leader as Donald Rumsfeld ascend the throne of power once again, was an oozing flashback to the days of stand up at the Pentagon.

Now we know without a shadow of a doubt that "I know I would not engage in a cover-up," has it's roots in the plagiarism of: "I'm not a crook." There could be no finer reincarnation, unless one observed the aromatic functions of a bathroom. For some there is no shame, but Done, I say, and again I say, I am done!

I've never been much of a sports fan. However, I do know about all the ones who've had a movie made about their lives. You know, Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Shoeless Joe in Field of Dreams, & that Invincible guy with the Giants girlfriend, -- all those famous ones.

Now there seems to be fewer sports movies, or is it fewer good sportsmen. There is one, however, who I know even without the movie, and his mother, his family and his fellow countrymen deserve a whole lot better, than the foul smelling fumble they've been passed.

If you've found my thoughts a wee bit gross, just remember I had to play the hand I was dealt: Donny Darke, The Enforcer & last but still least, the Decider & Chief, brought to you by, Enron the Super Con and Halliburton's The Joke's on us!

If you've found me funny, well you must have died laughing at the Warren Commission Report. But you may lose your smile when you smell the pile and realize what you've stepped in.

There are few true American Heroes these days of America's Dark Ages, few who optimize the dignity & integrity that was once ours, few whose beacon of patriotism blinds those who cower in the shadows of 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.

Hope in our national recovery is reinvigorated because a man named Pat Tillman reminded us of what we are capable of and can be again -- not because "friendly fire" took him, nor because the four horsemen used him for a poster boy. No, it was because exercising his own free will, he chose to give up so much, to be of service to a government, who on its best day, couldn't possibly live up to his standard of Patriotism. Because of Pat Tillman, we can all say with pride again, I Am An American!!!
